The Redmi Note 11S’s design is rather unremarkable. The phone’s plastic body and back panel are sturdy and well made. The 6.43-inch AMOLED screen that Xiaomi has opted for boasts a claimed maximum brightness of up to 1000 nits, which is quite bright. The MediaTek Helio G96 SoC is what makes this phone tick. MIUI 13 is preinstalled on the Redmi Note 11S, but this build is based on Android 11, not Android 12.
Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 11S is an all-encompassing device that packs a number of high-end features. It’s prepared to meet the demands of serious gamers and budding photographers alike in terms of photography, gaming, and operational needs.
The Redmi Note 11S has adequate power to run games and apps of a modest complexity. In MIUI 13, some applications, like GetApps, have been found to be spammy. Videos looked great on the screen, but the stereo sound wasn’t balanced, with the bottom speaker coming through much more clearly than the earpiece. The battery life was surprisingly satisfactory.
Even with continuous use, the 5,000 mAh battery lasted a full day. The phone’s primary selling point is its 108-megapixel camera. As with the other sensors, it’s capable of taking decent pictures in good lighting conditions when used at full native resolution, but otherwise it’s not much better than average. I wouldn’t rush into buying this phone just yet because I’m sure there will be better options available in the near future.
